Davana Oil

Davana Oil

Davana oil is one of the most distinctive and sought-after essential oils in luxury perfumery and Ayurvedic aromatherapy — steam-distilled from the fragrant flowers and leaves of Artemisia pallens, a commercially cultivated annual herb native to South India. What makes davana oil truly exceptional is its rare ability to interact with individual body chemistry, producing a subtly different scent on each person who wears it — a characteristic that has made it a prized and irreplaceable ingredient in high-end personal fragrance compositions worldwide.

The Artemisia pallens plant grows in two distinct morphological forms — tall and short flowering sets — and matures in approximately four months from seeds or cuttings. It features a woody lower stem with herbaceous annual branches, and its fragrant flowers and leaves are the primary source of the oil's rich aromatic compounds.

At Anjum Aromatics, our davana oil is carefully distilled to produce a clear, brownish-yellow viscous liquid of exceptional aromatic depth and consistency.

In perfumery, davana oil is valued as a rare and exotic middle-to-base note, contributing a warm, sweet, fruity depth to oriental, gourmand, and floral fragrance families. Its scent-morphing quality on different skin types makes it particularly prized by niche perfumers seeking personalized, living fragrances.

In aromatherapy, davana oil is used for its deeply calming and grounding effects — reducing anxiety, promoting emotional balance, and enhancing focus and concentration during meditation. Its aphrodisiac properties have also made it a popular ingredient in mood-enhancing and sensory wellness blends.

For skincare, davana oil moisturises dry and dehydrated skin, promotes a healthy complexion, and offers anti-infectious protection against skin infections through its natural antimicrobial compounds. In respiratory applications, it has been traditionally used to alleviate coughs and ease breathing discomfort.

Anjum Aromatics supplies davana oil in bulk and wholesale quantities to luxury perfume houses, niche fragrance formulators, aromatherapy brands, Ayurvedic product manufacturers, and skincare companies across India, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Europe.
